Has it really been 50 years? I don’t feel THAT old!
After high school graduation, I attended the University of Georgia. I started
as a music major, but soon changed to education. I graduated with a degree
in elementary education a few years later; I earned a master’s degree in
early childhood education. I taught in several DeKalb County schools for
over 30 years. I retired in July 1997.
I married Georgia Woodward and we have one daughter, Anna. She teaches first
grade for Gwinnett County.
About 15 years ago, we moved from Stone Mountain to Lilburn. As the years
go by, I am rethinking a two story house. . . maybe no steps would be nice.
One of my favorite high school memories is that of classmates and me checking
out of school early and going to my house! Mom still lives in that same
house on Oak Avenue, but without my precious dad who died in December 2010.
